Owner of a unique geography, Chile occupies a narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and the Cordillera de Los Andes at the end closest to the Antarctic of South America. It has 4400 km of longitude north to south, which makes it the longest country in the world, and only 486 km wide at its maximum point near the Strait of Magellan and 90 km at its minimum point. This allows to have a wide variety of climates from the puna to the north to the Antarctic cold in the south, which gives it a great variety and contrast of landscapes and tourist attractions. Among the main ones are its capital city, Santiago de Chile, located practically in the center of the country. To the north we find the Atacama Desert, to the south the Chilean Patagonia with its lakes, mountains and Chilean fjords. One of Chile´s attraction is Easter Island.
